Here’s the Story
Did you know that matcha can work wonders for both your body and your skin? It’s true, what we put inside often shows up on the outside, and matcha is a perfect example of that.
A cherished part of the Japanese diet, matcha has been celebrated for centuries for its health benefits, and it’s known for giving you a natural glow that goes beyond just energy. It’s a little reminder to slow down, live with intention, and to bring a little more light into your life.
Much like the Japanese concept of shizen, which highlights the healing power of nature, matcha offers a similar sense of restoration for us.
Our story is quite different. It did not start in a cozy tea house or on a peaceful mountain in Japan. Instead, it began in a shared office space, where two colleagues bonded over a shared love of wellness and small rituals that make everyday life feel meaningful. We were both looking for balance in the busyness of life, a way to care for ourselves and our loved ones while still chasing our dreams. And for us, matcha became that moment, a quiet anchor in the whirlwind of modern life.
We always begin our mornings by making our own matcha. It’s our way of setting the tone for the day, a simple ritual that says, “We’re ready for whatever comes next.” That one cup inspired something much bigger: a vision to create a community on a mission to nourish themselves from the inside out.
We totally get it, life can feel overwhelming sometimes. In our fast-paced, digital world, it’s so easy to forget just how much our wellbeing is tied to the world around us, but one of the simplest and most beautiful ways to recharge is by sipping a cup of matcha.
Through our own journey, we’ve learned that true wellness is about small, intentional practices that center us. Here are other tips we’ve picked up along the way to help you create a more balanced routine and invite a little more calm into your daily life:
• Create a lovelier waking experience. Waking up on your own without an alarm is a beautiful thing, but it can take time to achieve and is not always practical (especially if you have an early flight). Setting your alarm to ring more quietly, or to the sounds of birds chirping, however, is a gentle way to help your body adjust. There are also clocks with lights that gradually become brighter instead of making noise work very nicely for this, too.
• Go to sleep sooner. When you’re well-rested, your body and mind feel and perform better. More sleep affords your body more time to recover and recharge for the day.
• Hydrate. In the later phases of sleep, skin tends to lose moisture. It helps to drink water throughout the day and evening to stay hydrated, but limiting liquids can help you sleep more soundly for longer stretches.
• Treat yourself to a relaxing and rejuvenating facial massage. Massage helps release tension and improves circulation, leaving skin refreshed and glowing. Using a light facial oil and your fingers, give yourself a short and sweet massage. Use your fingertips in a light, tapping motion along your jawline, between the eyebrows, and around your temples.
• Enjoy a moment with a loved one. Whether it’s reading a story to kids or simply sharing a quiet moment, these connections help us stay grounded and remind us of the importance of self-care. It’s a beautiful way to end the day with love and gratitude.
What helps you feel grounded and connected to yourself? We’d love to hear your tips for living a balanced, intentional life.
Always,
